Cooling Cucumber Facial
I always buy cucumber with worthy intentions to make more salads, but if its sitting in the fridge then it makes the ultimate cooling facial, ideal for sensitive or sunburnt skin.
If you get that uncomfortable hot-under-the-collar feeling when skin is irritated or over excited, this is for you. Soothe away the itchiness and restore calm with this super natural mixture, made by blending cool fresh cucumber with organic natural yogurt, honey and oatmeal. Whiz it all up together, add a few drops of camomile essential oil if you've got some, and apply to your clean face. We found the freshness and softness lasted all day, with no itchiness, and the oatmeal left skin feeling really clean... try it!
You'll need: Half a cucumber (peel it and chop it up ready for mushing) 2-3 tablespoons of organic natural yogurt 2 tablespoons of finely ground oatmeal 1 generous teaspoon of runny honey A few drops of chamomile or rose essential oil (not lavender)

Mush up the cucumer into a juice and mix everything together, ideally in a liquidiser or smoothie maker. You can vary the consistency by adding more oatmeal to thicken the mixture, or more yogurt to loosen it up, till it feels about right for apllying to your face. Slap on a generous layer. If after a few minutes your skin feels slightly warm again, apply a second layer on top of the first. You can leave it on for up to half an hour to maximise the benefits, and then rinse off with water to reveal a calm and richly moistuised complexion.

Brightening Berry Mush
Fresh fruits are full of skin-loving vitamins and antioxidants, and also rich in fruit acids which instantly boost and brighten your complexion. This is for when you're feeling truly indulgent, because it calls for fresh organic berries, which are a bit too delicious and a tad too expensive to mash up and put on your face on most ordinary days. But it will be worth it! Our super simple recipe will restore the glow to your tired office-skin and takes literally seconds to prepare.
You'll need: A small bowl of juicy berries - raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, whatever. 2 tablespoons of finely ground oatmeal 2 tablespoons of finely ground almonds A squirt of mineral water
Mash the berries into a juicy pulp and mix in the oatmeal and the almonds. You're after a soft thick paste consistency that you can massage into your skin, so add more dry ingredients or a squirt of mineral water until it seems about right.

As you massage the mixture into your face and neck, the oatmeal cleans and soothes, the ground almonds exfoliate and moisturise, and the berries work their fruit acid magic. Relax for ten minutes, then wash off with warm water to reveal a clear bright complexion.
If you're after a rich, skin-brightening moisturiser, try our Apricot & Shea skin cream. Apricot kernel oil is rich in vitamins A, C and E - all of which promote soft, supple and revitalised skin, and we add a few drops of sweet orange essential oil for an uplifting scent.
